History

Alessandre was a tightrope walker and a knife thrower in the circus for most of his life. He also had a thing for a pretty face, usually to very gently manipulate them into fear and pain. That ended badly for him one day - one of the ladies he had taken back to his room turned out to be more than he could handle.
He woke up in a facility smelling heavily of blood and sanitising agents. He spent a number of years there, undergoing physically-altering experimentation and reconditioning. Through that, he lost his ability to feel pain, not to mention most of what empathy and morality he had.
Eventually, he and his experiment-squad staged a coup, in which they freed any remaining experiments to do what they would. They killed indiscriminately, and once outside, Alessandre turned his new allies into a force for information gathering to find the heart of the program that created them, so he (and perhaps they) could visit at least as much destruction on them as had been done to him.
